The Anchor is the Key by Linda Anthony Hill

"The Anchor is the Key" is a good book with a solid storyline and an intriguing main character. Celeste is portrayed as level-headed and extremely likeable, and seems very much like a real person. I would have liked a description of her, as I read the whole book imagining a very large senior citizen, only to find out Celeste is only a size 14 and in her 40s. The storyline itself is interesting, with the added dimension of Celeste being able to talk to spirits to help her solve the mystery. Her new apprentice Emma livens things up, and I look forward to learning more about her in future books. In addition to an interesting mystery, the book provides a lot of details about everyday life as a psychic. There is information about appointments, scheduling, and the various tools of the trade Celeste uses. I'd love to learn more about pricing, as I wonder how Celeste can make a living with this as her only source of income. All of this adds realism to a semi-paranormal story, and makes the reader even more invested in Celeste as a person.
